What About Us

Imagine walking out of a room in school to your fellow classmates running in a panic in all directions, there are gun shots and screams, but you hear nothing.  You turn and see someone with a gun, so you run to the nearest closet, lock yourself in and call 911. How are you telling the dispatcher what is happening and what you are seeing?

Across all age groups, in the United States, approximately 1,000,000 people (0.38%of the population) over 5 years of age are "functionally deaf.  Add that to an estimated 24.1 million people that have a severe disability and an estimated 34.2 million people that have a functional limitation, this adds up to more than 55 million people in the world living with some kind of disability.

What are we doing as a society to make it easier and give them more confidence when reaching out to emergency services? What are we giving our students besides an app to help combat bullying? We need to give every student, regardless of their ability, safety of every kind.

The Justifeyed app will provide a better connection to those with a disability entailing being hard of hearing or deaf, with a face to face communication between emergency services and the caller. Now the dispatcher sees what is happening, doesn't have the need for so many questions, and there's no need for a separate line or interpreter. Think of all the valuable time AND lives this could save.

That kid in the closet at the school shooting is now just as protected as anyone else, while also being able to tell their loved ones they are ok. Let's protect everyone with the same line of communication with Justifeyed, because WE haven't forgotten you.
